Mark Sanford Considering Run For Congress

Former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford is considering running in a special election for the 1st Congressional district, a seat he once held before he became Governor. Sanford was considered a rising GOP star until the very strange episode when he dissappeared for a few days. He explained he had been "hiking on the Appalachian Trail" but in reality he had been visiting his Argentinian flame in South America. The resulting scandal drove him from office and the national political spotlight. Apparently he is counting on the short memory span of American voters.

Steve Stockman, Nut Case From Texas, Invites Ted Nugent To State Of The Union

U.S. Representative Steve Stockman, R-36th district, Texas, has said he would invite Ted Nugent to appear at the State of the Union speech. These guys put the "nut" in the term gun nut or right wing nut case! I don't care to go into the history of these two crazies. Below is a link to a somewhat dated article on Stockman in Mother Jones and an excerpt from Stockman's page in Wikipedia. Stephen Ernest Stockman, known as Steve Stockman (born November 14, 1956), is an American politician who has been the United States Representative for Texas's 36th congressional district since 2013. A Republican, Stockman previously served as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 9th congressional district from 1995 to 1997.
